Some people are just running a few, like Trap Dustshoot, Solemn Judgment, and Torrential Tribute. Some people are running like ten Traps, including Starlight Road.
My thought is that if people don't Main Deck all of their Mystical Space Typhoons, they would Side Deck the rest of them. Which means that if you are using a bunch of Traps, your opponent can just side in additional Spell/Trap hate, and you'll be sad.
But really, people aren't going to have Mystical Space Typhoon all of the time. So Traps aren't as useless as they may seem now. I mean, Traps were never really that useless when Heavy Storm was legal before. Sure, we only had one MST, but everyone ran Dust Tornado as well. So it may not be THAT bad...
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this new ban list. Twilight seems absolutely ridiculous, but people keep saying that it's inconsistent. That kind of makes it worse to lose to them, since Twilight is one of those decks where your opening hand determines whether you win or not.
So, what I want to know from you, the readers, is, what is your Trap line-up going to look like next format and why? Feel free to leave your answer as a comment below.
I'm just dropping both of my seven tools and using the same trap line-up I already had along with a trap dustshoot
ReplyDeleteIt all depends on the deck being run. If its a deck that can function with minimal help from traps like Lightworn or Agent Angels, then a low count below 8 or 6 might work. Off course there are still decks that require a lot of protection like BWs, Gadgets and X-sabers so those might run above 10, but what they are really depends on how they will run from now on.
ReplyDelete2 Threatening Roar
ReplyDelete1 Trap Dustshoot
2 Mind Crush / Bottomless Trap Hole / D.D. Crow / idk
I might just go back to the trap lineup back when Soldier was around and MST was at 3 (with heavy around): Torrential, Mirror Force, Trap Dustshoot, maybe 1 Call/threatening roar/solemn. No more then 7 traps probably
ReplyDeleteDefinitely keeping my Trap line-up low. Effect Veiler's or Herald of Orange Light's in Agents are now even more critical then before. If a deck relies on backrow, it should be running 3 Dark Bribe, 1-2 Starlight Road in my opinion, and that's a bit of a burden just to protect your backrow. I might test out starting with 3-4 traps and siding in Warnings and Bottomless's, depending on wether my opponent thinks I have low trap count and sides out their spell/trap hate.
ReplyDelete1 trap dustshoot
ReplyDelete2 call of the haunted
1 torrential tribute
1 mirror force
0/2 mind crush
2 blackhorn of heaven
So no bottomless trap hole/ no solemn brigade/ no d prisons
1x Trap dustshoot
ReplyDelete2x Mind Crush
1x Torrential
1x Mirror Force
or even Dark Coffin in Scraps.
Why not run dark bribes? It stops their heavy storm sure it gives your opp another card but it stops their "1 of" card
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong but that's pretty strong. Especially if you wanna keep your horn/solemn/etc
when an experienced player like u is askin a question like that i get scared cuz i'm having the same problem i'm just playing twilight with a royal decree dustshoot and a beckoning light i might add threatening roar which is one of my fav cards cuz it's chainable and also pwwb idk i like 2 mind crush dustshoot t roars and some other traps chainable is really good now with mst at three and heavy to tell u the truth mst at three is overkill to the backrow from what i'm seeing playtesting heavy is just another unchainable mst i bluff set it
ReplyDeleteahh tcg has 4 sangans tour guide search out honest and 3 gold sarcs to search out bls and heavy storm with three msts otk format!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei'll mind crush u and u will cry
ReplyDelete2 BTH
ReplyDelete2 Warning
2 CotH
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Starlight Road
I make great use of Stardust Dragon, synchro summoning it early to make MST less of a card. Combinded with the rest of the cards you can keep advantage easily.
tourguide is good but searching sangan and leave your tourguide in atk mode is risky especially in an environment lik this with so many otk.(ps. do not refer to the wrong rule abt exceed, sangan won't search when used as exceed. follow the rule in worlds. tcg will soon be change.)
ReplyDeleteit probably will like the colossal ruling change
