Random Stuff #23

The 5D's episode was pretty interesting. We got to see Tech Genus Hyper Librarian and Halberd Cannon, but Junk Berserker was disappointing. Yusei summoned it, its attack was stopped, and it died on the next turn. Why was Junk Berserker the key card for this episode...? It should've been Hyper Librarian.

Scrap Dragon also made another cameo as a Synchro Monster from the future that everyone blames for destroying the world. That's pretty cool.

Speaking of Scraps, Scrap Breaker, a TCG-exclusive for Storm of Ragnarok, was just announced. People are hyping it like they did with Scrap Mind Reader, and we all know where that went... At least it has a cool name. Like Mind Reader, I'll attempt to maybe pick one up if it's possible. If it's a Secret Rare, then I won't even bother. It would have just been smarter to import Scrap Orthros.

I've been thinking about playing a Fabled deck. They seem good, but they're very one-dimensional, like Coelacanth OTK, which is why I'm not enthusiastic to use them.

I might start going to that card shop that I went to last weekend instead of the usual one for locals. It's closer, nicer, and there are less newbs there. I'll have to see what happens, though, since I don't want to just abandon all of my friends at the usual card shop.

  1. Scrap Breaker is actually pretty broke and if it was secret it is worth it. You can special it if opponent has a monster. Thats it..no "You control none" or "You have only one card in hand". If opp has a set or face up you can special. You have to destroy one scrap you control(Not a penalty) Scrap Tuners obviously. He is basically a better replacement for cyber dragon in scraps

  2. I wouldn't call Fish one dimensional entirely. Because of their tribute fodder, the can support... anything that needs tributes lol. LaDD, monarchs, Vanity's Fiend... it can become a very diverse archetype.

I don't watch the anime, but that sounds hilarious that Yusei's key monster does nothing and dies lol

Scrap Breaker is just about as "broke" as Scrap Mind Reader. I read its effect, and I know its uses. And, it IS a penalty to have to destroy a Scrap you control. While it can be helpful, the fact that it's mandatory means that it's going to hurt you sometimes. Not to mention, it only works when you have a Scrap Tuner already, which isn't always going to happen.

Scrap Breaker, Scrap Mind Reader, and Scrap Searcher are all combo-oriented cards and need a dedicated build to be effective.

Well, that diversity isn't due necessarily to the Fish. It's more because of the Frog engine that Fish decks run, allowing you to side easily into Frog Monarchs.

The anime was disappointing because I was looking forward to see Junk Berserker with a hopefully awesome effect. But, its effect was just used to facilitate the introduction of a useless card that will be in Extreme Victory.

AND it will be featured on the booster wrapper.
