Random Stuff #38

So, I was unable to go to locals this weekend, not that I expected to be able to.  I wanted to test out my Scrap Worms a little more, but I guess that'll have to wait.

I've been thinking about what deck to play when Order of Chaos comes out in January.  It'd be nice to continue using my Scrap Worms, since it can use Number C39: Utopia Ray, but the deck would be weak against Inzektors.  Seeing as how Inzektors would probably be pretty popular, I'd probably have to use a different deck, like T.G. Zombies.  We'll see.

Either way, for the holidays, I got a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, among other things.  This includes eight packs of Duelist Pack: Crow, four packs of Generation Force, four packs of Photon Shockwave, and two Generation Force: Special Editions.  The best card I pulled out of all of these packs was an Ultra Rare Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.  Oh wait, I spoke too soon.  The best thing I got was one of those free entry coupons for Side Events at a YCS.  Yeah, that bad.

However, I did get Starcraft II, which is pretty cool.  I haven't starting playing it yet, though, because I'm looking into another game at the moment.  That game is RuneScape.  Runescape is pretty fun when you start out, then it gets boring once you finish all of the free to play stuff, then becomes fun again once you're a member.  I'm planning on just playing for free until I get bored, since I'm not going to be committing as much time to it as I used to.

So yeah, I'm still looking for new deck ideas.  I'm satisfied with staying with either my Scrap Worms or T.G. Zombies until the end of the format, but if I can find something better, then I'd want to try it out.  I mean, if the format stays relatively the same after the ban list, then it won't take much adapting, and I'll be able to use the same deck from this format, whatever that may be.  If not, though, then we'll see what happens then.

I normally don't take the time to point out grammar errors on the Internet, but really? Most people at least use periods, AT LEAST.

On to the point, I don't like Inzektors. If you don't draw Hornet, you lose. It's nice that they have access to Dimensional Fissure, when played correctly, but it doesn't cover for their dependence on Hornet. Not to mention that there are plenty of Side Deck cards for them, like Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror.

  3. I'd hold off building decks mid-format... since you only have 3 months to enjoy the madness

though if you have to retire one of your decks to move on, you can start as early as now...

  4. disregard my errors it takes an actual good player to play a deck that can get sided against. You do realize plants are easy to side against and they do extremely well. Don't even get me started about Darkworld.
Really? is "it's too easy to side against", really your excuse to not play it? You could have said that it was too autopilot or something you sir have lost credibility.......

So you're comparing Plants to Inzektors...? Inzektors need Hornet to win, whereas Plants are actually a "Good Stuff" deck where you can put to use whatever you draw. Tour Guide works by itself, Reborn Tengu works by itself, Lonefire Blossom works by itself; you don't have to draw combos with Plants. Is there something like Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror that shuts down the whole Plant deck? No, there isn't. If it were easy to side against Plants, they wouldn't be doing as well as they are.

It's more apt to compare Inzektors to Frog Monarchs, which focus around getting to one card (Inzektor Hornet - Treeborn Frog), then use that card to support the main engine of the deck (Centipede/Dragonfly - Monarchs). Would you compare Frog Monarchs to Plants? Didn't think so.

I don't mind when a deck is too easy to side against. I like how you not only skipped to the end of my comment to criticize, but also put words in my mouth. The main problem I have with Inzektors is that you need access to Hornet or you lose, not that they have a tough time in games 2 and 3. When I was planning on playing Karakuri, I created a Side Deck to counter what I would expect to be sided against me (Cyber Dragon/Chimeratech Fortress Dragon). For Inzektors, I would do the same. The point is that I wouldn't even want to play without siding using Inzektors because if I don't draw Hornet, I lose.

Basically, thanks for ignoring my comment and throwing an baseless insult at me.

  6. we will see if inzektors do well they seem to be doing extremely well in japan beating out tg agents whom was the top deck in japan pre order of chaos

  7. u do realize you run 2-3 dualities not to mention armageddon knights not to mention tomatoes and you if you still say u can't reach hornet ur probably hiding something from us or you would play a mainstream deck that is gonna make an impact in the future
darkworld is extremely grapha reliant and hornet is searchable so many ways like sngan a centipede equipped with gigamantis if you will and the list goes on this deck hasa better way to get to hornet than frogs do to get treeborn in grave...
    need i say more?

How is saying that "if I don't draw Hornet, I lose," mean I'm using something from you? In a standard Inzektor deck, there's about nine ways to get access to Hornet. In my Scrap deck, there's about ten ways to get access to Scrap Beast. Do I draw Scrap Beast every game? No, I don't. Sometimes I have to make due with the Worm engine going for Xyz Monsters, or maybe I have to use Scrap Goblin or Orthos to make my plays. You can't make other plays in an Inzektor deck; you draw Hornet or you lose.

And by the way, T.G. Agents aren't even that good. I really don't know why OCG players keep playing the deck. The only times I see Agents of any kind win is if they draw multiple Agents and multiple Hyperions. It seems like the deck only does well in Japan because so many people are playing it.

    @Zombie JFK

It seems interesting, but I don't think I'd want to make such a deck with there being only a month between the release of ORCS and the ban list. I'd probably hold off on using ORCS themes until after the ban list is revealed.

  9. yet somehow agents won orlds even against great players like glalieo obaldia and michel gruner who were playing a deck junk doppel trhat is better than tg agents and they got beat by the evntual champion who is a no name

There's two things wrong with that:

    1. The World Championship has a different format than either the TCG or the OCG. It is said that OCG players have an advantage in this type of format, especially at the previous World Championship, because the format for it is much closer to the OCG compared to the TCG.

    2. The World Champion for this year was accused of stacking. He opened with Trap Dustshoot practically every game, and according to Galileo de Obaldia, the judges made no attempt to stop this.

  12. that doesn't prove that inzektors aren't a crazy ass deck that will tear apart the meta more than what rabbit did on ycs brighton

  13. @Trollin' Anon

I see you've finally backed down and have no further ignorance to share.

    @Anonymous

I don't think I'll be devoting that much time to RuneScape. I did play a while ago, but now I think I'll just play for fun every so often.

  14. Hey can you help with a ruling since you know Scraps in and out? My friend and I were having a debate on what happens if you activate scrapstorm and the opponent chains Book of Moon, could we get an answer? thanks

For cards from booster packs Crimson Crisis up to Extreme Victory, there are rulings on Konami's website:

    http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/gameplay/

You'll find the answer you're looking for in the rulings for cards from Duelist Revolution.

Of course, you could've also checked the Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia. While the tips it provides aren't always correct, the rulings pages for each card are monitored my admins, so they are reliable.

  16. thanks i don't check the wiki for rulings since alot of times they only have ones for OCG

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Anonymous

OCG rulings are almost always the same as the TCG rulings. There are only a few instances where such rulings are different.

Most of the times it's okay to use old UDE rulings or OCG rulings, so it's no excuse to not check just because the rulings might not be there...

  18. I laughed at the anonymous asshole xD So I made the naturia deck (if you remember me asking about it) and I was hoping you'd take a look.

    3x Naturia Bamboo Shoot
    3x Naturia Cliff
    3x Naturia Cherries
    2x Thunder King Rai-Oh
    1x Naturia Cosmobeet
    1x Naturia Butterfly
    1x Morphing Jar
    1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
    2x Maxx "C"
    Spells:
    1x Book of Moon
    1x Dark Hole
    1x Monster Reborn
    1x Heavy Storm
    1x Mind Control
    3x Pot of Duality
    3x Mystical Space Typhoon
    Traps:
    3x Fiendish Chain
    3x Safe Zone
    2x Bottomless Trap Hole
    1x Solemn Judgment
    1x Starlight Road
    1x Trap Dustshoot
    1x Torrential Tribute

    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Anonymous

It seems like it would be difficult to successfully summon Bamboo Shoot. You don't really have many Naturia Monsters, or many Monsters at all for that matter.

Do you really need three Mystical Space Typhoons in this type of deck? Some Stun decks don't main MST or Heavy Storm at all.

  20. LOL I agree with light about the inzectors issue its not that great a deck. While the inzector Wind-ups is a little bit better inzectors still have trouble beating six samurai and other meta contenders I Could see inzectors having problems with blackwings as well but we'll just have to see once they're out. Also the quality of a deck used also is based on who's using it.. and as grunty said there aren't many options without hornet so it'll be interesting to see what GOOD players do with a no hornet situation on the field.
