Galactic Overlord Sneak Preview

So, I ended up going to the GAOV Sneak Preview because Aki wanted to and I didn't have much else to do today...

I paid for Aki's entry, so I claimed the right to his packs.  So, I ended up getting ten packs and two copies of Noble Knight Artorigus.  In those ten packs, I got four holos.  Two were bad: Zekt Conversion and Flelf.  Two were great: Hieratic Dragon King of Atum and Photon Strike Bounzer!  Just pulling the Photon Strike Bounzer made me not care about the rest of the packs.  I did pull some decent Commons and Rares, too:

Photon Papilloperative
Gagaga Gardna
Lightray Diabolos
Lightray Grepher
Lightray Daedalus x2
Inzektor Ladybug x2
Flame Tiger
Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord
Watttaildragon x3
Hieratic Dragon of Eset x3
Hieratic Dragon of Nebthet
Hieratic Dragon of Su
Hieratic Seal of Convocation
Hieratic Seal of Banishment

Those are pretty good, better than I expected in fact.  That's probably because I got twice as many packs, though...

Regardless, I'm still looking for some Hieratic Commons and Rares, in addition to the holos which I shall buy later.  So, if anyone who comes to my locals pulled any of the following cards and would like to trade/sell them to me, let me know:

Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord x2
Hieratic Dragon of Nebthet x2
Hieratic Dragon of Su x2
Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit x3
Hieratic Seal of Convocation x2
Hieratic Seal of Banishment x2

And I'm also looking for these holos, though I may just wait to buy singles once the prices go down.  But, if you happen to come to my locals and want to trade/sell them to me, then here's the list:

Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb x3
Hieratic Dragon King of Atum
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis x2
Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger x3
Hieratic Seal of Reflection x3

So yeah, I'm basically looking for all of the decent Hieratic cards in the set.  If I can just get the Commons and Rares from my friends who attended the Sneak Preview, I'd be pretty happy, and I'll just pick up the holos later.

But yeah, besides all that, I just dueled quite a bit, mostly with Yugilo and JB.  Many of the duels should be up on Yugilo's channel.  There were so many random duels that I can't really remember much from them.  I guess you can watch them on Yugilo's channel when he puts them up.

Also, I'm thinking about making a deck profile for my Nordic Diva deck, since quite a few people wanted to see it.  If I do make such a video, it'd be up either today or Tuesday, probably.  I'm actually planning on making it next weekend.  I should have some extra time next weekend, and I'd rather not rush the video.

Thoughts on Galactic Overlord

Well, Cardcar D is a Secret Rare.  What a surprise... Other good cards like Photon Strike Bounzer, Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis, and Number 11: Big Eye have also been made Secret Rares, meaning that it'll be quite difficult to get them.  Not to mention that the other Secret Rares in the set are really bad, like Number 7: Lucky Straight...

And now that I think about it, most of the other holos are bad as well.  Number 25: Force Focus, Gaia Dragon, Hieratic Dragon King of Atum, Inzektor Exa-Stag, and Night Beam are good.  Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon,  Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb, and Queen Dragun Djinn are okay, I guess.  The other 40 holos are basically horrible...

At least most of the Hieratics are low rarities, meaning that making a Hieratic deck won't be too difficult.  Unfortunately, the TCG doesn't have Gustaph Max, meaning that the deck isn't going to be very good here.  It can still swarm, but it's not nearly as reliable here.  I understand that Hieratics have seen success in the OCG Asia Format, in which they don't have Gustaph Max.  But, from what I've seen, it's somewhat dependent on drawing the main combo plus Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to banish the first REDMD that you get off of Atum. Otherwise, all you can do is make a Rank 6 Xyz Monster at the cost of two cards, or perhaps summon a Gaia Dragon and another Dragon plus a weakened REDMD.  Now, neither of those things are bad, but if you opponent stops your push, then you lose...

So, a Hieratic deck based more on the Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord.  I'm not so sure about how to do that, but the Seals of Banishment and Reflection seem pretty good.  We'll see what happens, I guess.  Regardless, I'd have to wait for a while to put the deck together, as the pack isn't officially released until next month and I'm not going to waste much money on this...

Inzektor players should be happy that Gruf, now known as Inzektor Ladybug, is still a Common.  Lightrays are also all Rares and under, so that's cool for people who wanted to play them.  Well, it would be if people would play them outside of Lightsworn.  I guess that with the new Priority ruling, Lightsworn are much less threatening.

But yeah, I thought that this set was pretty good at first, but now that I've looked through it more closely, I realize that it's pretty bad... In the TCG at least... I may go to the Sneak Preview with Aki due to the fact that I have nothing much to do this weekend, but we'll see...

TCG Priority Rule Change

It's about a year late, but it's finally here.  Ignition Effects can no longer be activated in response to the summon of a Monster; they're more akin to Normal Spells now, with respect to when you can activate them.

Seeing as how everyone, including Konami, has already written about this, I don't think I really need to go into this that much.  Rescue Rabbit is worse now, Bottomless Trap Hole is better, etc.

Personally, I like the rule change, if you couldn't tell by my snide opening remark.  I don't really care that I can't use Scrap Dragon's effect upon its summon, but having to face Bottomless Trap Hole more often isn't great.

I also appreciate how Konami is starting to clarify the rules and such.  It's good that they're at least showing some concern for their players.

Oh, and before you start replacing all of your Solemn Warnings with Bottomless Trap Holes, please remember that Inzektors and Wind-Up Rabbits do exist.  Bottomless does get better, but it doesn't automatically overtake Solemn Warning now...

And don't just start randomly using Raigeki Break in an attempt to copy the OCG.  There are reasons that they can run that card so effectively besides the lack of Ignition Priority.  One of those reasons is that they all have Card Car D, whereas we don't...

Tournament Report 4/21/12

So, I finally caught up on Homestuck, so I had some time to throw together a new deck.  But, I didn't have enough time to write a blog post during the week.  Next week will probably be the same, since my professors this quarter like to give out a lot of random homework...

But yeah, I went to the third Dragons Collide Sealed Deck tournament today to get a third Dragons Collide Structure Deck.  Long story short: I lost Round 1 and failed to get the mat.  But, I did play a couple duels against JB with my Nordics for fun.  He was using Chaos Dragons, and I lost two duels very quickly.  Then, I played against him in the Yugilo Format, with him using Yugilo's deck.  Yugilo filmed the duels, I think, so they'll be on his channel, probably.

After that and helping JB fix up Yugilo's deck, the tournament started.  There were 27 players with quite a few regulars, though most of the players were newbs... I decided to use a new variant of my Scrap Worms.  The main difference is that I took out Scrap Orthros to make room for Call of the Haunteds, which give me plays if I happen to lose my Normal Summon to something like Solemn Warning.

Round 1: vs Chaos Dragons

I had played against this guy at least one before.  I can't remember when, though.  But yeah, he told me earlier that he was running the Chaos Dragon build that got 2nd at YCS Dallas last weekend, card-for-card.  Okay then...

-Duel 1: I made Scrap Archfiend early to beat him down, then he played Future Fusion.  I had to summon a Scrap Dragon and destroy my Scrap Archfiend with its effect to get rid of the Future Fusion before Five-Headed Dragon came out.  I also had an Effect Veiler for the Darkflare Dragon he was depending on to banish his own Eclipse Wyvern with to seal the duel.
-Duel 2: He went first with a Set Monster.  I summoned Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite and attacked it, but it turned out to be an Honest.  So I Set a couple cards and ended.  He passed, so I summoned Scrap Beast and made Scrap Dragon to run over his Honest.  He played Electric Virus to steal my Scrap Dragon, then Set a Phantom of Chaos to destroy with Scrap Dragon's effect, destroying my Solemn Judgment.  I flipped Gozen Match in response to prevent him from banishing my Scrap Dragon to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, so he was stuck.  I was able to win with that Scrap Dragon, as he had no choice but to hand it back at the end of the turn.

Round 2: vs Skull Servants

Uh, okay...

-Duel 1: He didn't draw any back row (though he may just not play any...), so I was able to kill him with Scrap Dragon pretty easily.
-Duel 2: He banished my Scrap Dragon with Chaos Sorcerer, and I didn't draw any Monsters after that that I could counter with, so I died slowly.
-Duel 3: I was able to beat him down with Scrap Dragon, using a Veiler on his Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning.

Round 3: vs Malefic Skill Drain

I was playing against vadangchoinga.  Honestly, I was kind of worried about this match-up because I have a lot of weak Monsters and not that much Monster removal.

-Duel 1: It seems as though he didn't draw many Monsters, so I was able to kill the few he did draw and just beat him down from there.
-Duel 2: I ended up taking two hits from a Rai-Oh, then using Solemn Warning to kill a Barbaros, but then he dropped Malefic Stardust Dragon to finish me off.
-Duel 3: I was able to whittle down his resources to a point where all he had was a Barbaros and one Set back row with three cards in hand.  I Special Summoned Photon Thrasher and ran over the Barbaros.  I then Set a third back row and ended my turn.  He played Geartown, then Malefic Stardust Dragon.  He then Tribute Summoned Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon using the Malefic Stardust as a tribute.  I guess he feared a Dimensional Prison or something.  But, when he entered the Battle Phase, I flipped MST to destroy his last Set card, then activated Compulsory Evacuation Device to send his Gadjiltron Dragon back to his hand.  He thought for quite a bit before summoning Malefic Cyber End Dragon in Main Phase 2.  On my turn, I drew Heavy Storm, but I needed to keep my Set Foolish Burial alive.  So I just summoned Scrap Beast and made Scrap Dragon, destroying my Set Foolish Burial and his Malefic Cyber End.  I attacked directly and Set my Heavy Storm.  He drew and Set Solemn Judgment.  I flipped Heavy Storm, and he let it through, summoning the Gadjiltron Dragon from his hand when Geartown was destroyed.  I Set the Bottomless Trap Hole I had just drawn to destroy with Scrap Dragon's effect to destroy his Gadjiltron Dragon.  I attacked directly again, and his next card was of no help, so he scooped.

Round 4: vs Dark World

This was my Round 4 opponent from this tournament.  Apparently he had just sold all or most of his cards and was starting over again.

-Duel 1: He went first and Set two cards, played Gates, and summoned Snoww before playing Dragged Down Into the Grave.  The last card in his hand was Grapha, while my hand consisted of Monster Reborn, Fiendish Chain, Zephyros, Cyber Dragon, and Effect Veiler.  He discarded my Fiendish Chain for some reason... We both drew and he bounced Snoww for Grapha's summon.  He played Dark World Dealings, letting me pitch my Zephyros while he discarded Snoww to search for another Snoww. Then he used Gates to discard the second Snoww to draw a card and search the third Snoww.  He played Allure of Darkness and banished Broww, then played another Gates over his active Gates.  With that, he discarded Snoww to draw and search another Broww.  When I started my turn, he used Mind Crush on my Monster Reborn, thinking that he'd get to see my hand.  I told him otherwise, so he just flipped another Mind Control to discard my Cyber Dragon and see my hand.  I went all or nothing and made Black Rose Dragon a turn later, but he had Starlight Road.  If I hadn't tried, I would've lost anyway, so at least I learned that he plays Starlight Road.
-Duel 2: I went first and opened with Photon Thrasher.  I played Foolish Burial to dump Scrap Beast and revived it with Scrap Chimera.  I tuned Beast to Photon Thrasher to make Stardust Dragon and Set the rest of my hand to my back row.  He played Dark World Dealings, discarding Grapha, while I essentially lost a Dust Tornado off of the top of my deck.  He discarded Grapha to attempt to destroy my Set Compulsory Evacuation Device.  I negated with Stardust Dragon.  He then played Heavy Storm, which I negated with Solemn Judgment.  He played Dark Hole to destroy my Scrap Chimera, then Set a card and ended.  I revived the Stardust Dragon and attacked directly with it before Setting the card I drew.  He played Reckless Greed after drawing, then played Gates and Malefic Stardust Dragon.  He attacked to destroy both of our Stardust Dragons, then Set a card.  I used Call of the Haunted on my Stardust Dragon in the End Phase.  I beat him down with the Stardust over the next two turns, as he couldn't draw due to his Reckless Greed.  When he was down to 500 LP, he Set a Monster and ended.  I bounced it with the Compulsory I was saving and attacked for game.
-Duel 3: I opened with a hand of Mystical Space Typhoon, Scrapyard, Scrap Beast, and two Scrap Chimeras.  He summoned Trance Archfiend and discarded Grapha before Setting a couple cards.  I summoned Scrap Beast, and he immediately flipped Skill Drain.  Uh, okay.  I attacked over his Trance Archfiend and Set all of my Spells/Traps.  He summoned Beiige before playing Dragged Down.  The last two cards in my hand were Scrap Chimeras, and his only card was Grapha, so we didn't exactly have to think about our choices... We both drew, and he used Grapha's effect to target my Set Scrapyard.  I Chained Shadow-Imprisoning, and he Chained Solemn Judgment, so I lost my Scrapyard.  He revived Grapha and attacked over my Scrap Beast.  I drew Zephyros after drawing Foolish Burial off of Dragged Down, so that was kind of horrible.  So, I just used Chimera to make Scrap Dragon, after using MST on his Skill Drain, and Set the Foolish Burial for later.  I ran over his Grapha with Scrap Dragon and ended.  From there he was just stalling behind his Grapha while I kept destroying his back rows with Scrap Dragon.  He couldn't really do much, so I was able to control him and win.

Round 5: vs Chaos Dragons

We were the last two undefeated players, so this would be the finals.  Honestly, this guy wasn't very good.  He made very silly moves, like using Book of Moon or Karma Cut immediately on the summon of my Scrap Beast.  Some of his card choices were also very questionable, but he kept drawing Eclipse Wyverns and Chaos Monsters to banish them with, so I guess all of that doesn't matter.

I did win the match, though it was much more of a struggle than it should have been.  He had all of the cards that he needed except Heavy Storm, so I was able to control him with back rows like Gozen Match.  But yeah, Yugilo filmed this match, so it'll be up on his channel.  The third duel is quite long, and it ended up being the first time I would every use Utopia Ray, so that was pretty cool.

So yeah, I ended up going undefeated and getting 1st place.  With the store credit, I got an Inzektor Exa-Beetle (I traded the other one I got away), a Maestroke, a Scrap Chimera (I want to have two play-sets), an Ultra Rare Macro Cosmos, some Magic-sized clear sleeves (which ended up being 1.0 mm too small...), a clear deck box (which I gave to Yugilo), and a Wiseman's Chalice (there was nothing else to get...).  I also got a pack of Hidden Arsenal 5 instead of the Turbo Pack for participating because I want to start getting some of the Super Rare Gishki cards like Ariel, Abyss, Shadow, and Aquamirror.  I ended up pulling a Gishki Abyss, so that was good.

So it seems as though the Scraps aren't that bad of a choice for the format.  The main thing is that Scrap Dragon is a beast that's difficult to get rid of unless you play Inzektors.  I also made the build a little faster by sacrificing some of the slower control elements.  There are less real Traps to make room for Call of the Haunted, which is really powerful in this type of deck.  Zephyros also gives easier access to non-Scrap Synchros and can bounce back my Scrap Chimera or Worm Xex for later use.  Honestly, though, I didn't draw the Worms that much. They helped in the final round to make Utopia under Gozen Match, but didn't do much besides that.  So yeah, I just needed the additional speed, I guess.

But, the Galactic Overlord Sneak Preview is next week, and I definitely won't be going to that.  I'd really rather not pay $20 for a bunch of packs I can buy for less and a Normal Monster...  And, since I can't go to the card shop next Friday, I won't be attending locals next weekend.  I guess that'll give me some time to relax next weekend, as I usually am pretty busy between locals and homework.  Perhaps I'll be able to make more videos with Aki, and I might even make a deck profile for my Nordic Diva deck, as I'm not going to be using it anymore.  But yeah, we'll see.

Tournament Report 4/14/12

So, I ended up going to the second Dragons Collide Sealed Deck tournament today.  As I've probably said, I'm planning on getting three of the Structure Deck, so might as well have a chance of winning the nice mat, too...

Round 1: XOX

This was my Round 1 opponent from last week's normal tournament.  I hoped that his Lightsworn luck wouldn't transfer over to this, but...

-Duel 1: He drew all of his boss Monsters, so while I did get out a Chaos Sorcerer, I couldn't really do anything.
-Duel 2: The game whittled down to him just having Lightpulsar and two back rows.  I summoned Herald of Creation to discard my Blue-Eyes White Dragon and grab back my Dark Armed Dragon with six Darks in grave.  I discarded the Dark Armed Dragon and a Kaibaman to revive my Lightpulsar Dragon, then used A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon to bounce it and destroy his back rows.  I Special Summoned the Light Pulsar Dragon by banishing an Eclipse Wyvern, letting me get back my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.  I discarded it and a random dead Spell for Magical Stone Excavation, grabbing back a Reasoning.  I played it, he called Level 4, and I lost my Snipe Hunter.  But, I crashed my Lightpulsar into his to revive my REDMD, letting him get a Vice Dragon.  He couldn't do anything from there, so I won.
-Duel 3: I had to Book of Moon my own Vice Dragon to protect myself from his Prime Material Dragon.  That Vice Dragon and a Gragonith were the only Monsters I drew, so obviously, once he got over my Vice Dragon, I lost.

So, I just sat around playing some Mega Man Star Force on my DS.  I then talked to one of the Vanguard players, and he said that Duelmasters was coming back to the United States under Wizards of the Coast or something.  If that's true, then I'd totally play Duelmasters competitively. It's a really fun game, so I'd love to be able to play in tournaments and stuff.

But yeah, eventually the normal tournament started.  As I said last time, I really wanted to switch decks, but I didn't have time.  This week, all my time was wasted reading Homestuck on mspaintadventures.com.  I had found it on pointlesssites.com, and it seemed like one of those things where you have a semi-interactive story and it'd be a fun way to waste an hour.  But, I spent every moment of free time reading it since I found it; it's such a good story.  I'm really into the whole video game thing, like in .hack (Dot Hack), and the whole time travel/paradox thing.

So yeah, I just went with my Nordic Diva deck again.  And, there were 17 players today.  It seems like the number of participants has been really low lately; the only people who come are the regulars and the newbs.  It seems as though many of the intermediate players have quit.

Round 1: vs Newbie Spellcasters

Uh, yeah... He honestly didn't put up a fight at all, but it was his first time and all, so I tried not to kill him too badly.

Round 2: vs Bubble Beat

This was my Round 2 opponent from this tournament.  I mentioned that I didn't expect him to play HEROes, he asked why, and I said that if he doesn't draw Miracle Fusion, he loses.  He said that Miracle Fusion is "nothing", so every time played Miracle Fusion throughout the match, I kept mocking how he said that Miracle Fusion is weak.

-Duel 1: He went first, and I was unable to mount any sort of offense.  Multiple Gemini Sparks kept killing my Set Monsters.
-Duel 2: I was able to keep all of his Monsters off the field and just beat him down.
-Duel 3: I started with a Set Super-Nimble Mega Hamster and a back row, and he summoned Stratos, running into my Hamster and letting me get Ryko.  He Set a back row and ended.  I Flip Summoned Ryko to destroy his Stratos, then summoned Diva into Lost Blue Breaker to destroy his back row.  I overlaid for Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and ended.  He summoned Photon Thrasher and Bubbleman with two cards left in hand.  He then overlaid for Blade Armor Ninja and detached the Photon Thrasher so that he could play Miracle Fusion.  I banished his The Shining with Bottomless Trap Hole, and he attacked my Super Nimble Mega Hamster, forgetting Gantetsu's effect.  I Set a back row and ended.  He Set a back row as well.  I summoned Guldfaxe to Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon and destroy both of our back rows.  I Chained my target, Compulsory Evacuation Device, to bounce his Blade Armor Ninja, then attacked directly.  He topped Dark Hole to kill my Scrap Dragon, then played Miracle Fusion (a "nothing" card) soon after to make another The Shining and kill me.

Round 3: vs Newbie Chaos Agent Fairies

He had the money for the good cards, but he had no idea what to do with them.  After I beat him 2-0, he asked if he should put Destiny HEROes into his deck.  I said no, but he said he'd try it out anyways...

Round 4: vs Dark Worlds

This was my Round 5 opponent from this tournament.

-Duel 1: She opened with two back rows.  I opened with two back rows and a Set Tanngnjostr (black goat).  She Set another card, then played Dragged Down Into the Grave, revealing a hand of Sillva, Snoww, and Grapha.  She discarded my Pot of Avarice (my other two cards were two Tanngnjostr; I drew all three...), and I discarded he Sillva.  She then played Deck Devastation Virus, destroying all of my Monsters, including the Spirit Reaper I had drawn off of Dragged Down.  For the next three turns, however, I drew all Spells and Traps, so at least I didn't lose any more cards.  Regardless, she had an overwhelming advantage, so all I could do was struggle to survive while observing her deck and play-style.
-Duel 2: I was able to make Thor against her Goldd and Sillva with Gates out.  I was able to destroy her Gates and keep Thor alive to win.
-Duel 3: This time, I was able to make Scrap Archfiend against he Sillva and Gates.  Because Scrap Archfiend is a Fiend, I also got the boost from Gates, letting me run over all of her Monsters pretty easily.  It also helped that I drew a Solemn Warning for the Morphing Jar she tried to Flip Summon.  To be fair, if she didn't try to Flip Summon it, I would've gotten rid of it with a Scrap Dragon I was setting up for.

So yeah, I ended up going 3-1 and getting 4th place.  Much better than the last two tournaments, but I'd still like to find another deck to play.  And while only the Top 3 got prizes today, I pulled a Super Rare Horn of the Phantom Beast from my Turbo Pack, so that was nice.

But yeah, I really need to figure out a new deck to play.  Luckily, I'll be getting my third Dragons Collide Structure Deck next week, so I'd be able to make a deck using cards from there.  If not that, I'll have to figure out something else.

After looking a little more into it, I don't feel comfortable playing Infernities without the one Infernity Barrier, so I won't be running that.  I also don't like Karakuri because they're not very good.  Vayu Turbo's not that great because Armed Wing is too weak; if it were 2600 ATK, or at least 2500 ATK, then I'd be okay with it, but it's not.  HEROes are bad because you lose if you don't draw your support; I do like HEROes but they're either dependent on Fusion Gate or having a massive back row.

Maybe I'll try out Dark Worlds; they don't seem too bad.  I don't really like the deck, but every deck except Six Samurai seems to have a bad match-up against it, so why not, right?  Or, I could try out a Ninja deck with Deep Sea Diva...

Tournament Report 4/7/12

So, as usual, I went to locals today.  I took my Nordic Diva deck, since I didn't have any time to even look at it.  I was far too busy playing Megaman Battle Network 3 and watching Megaman Star Force...

But, before that, the card shop also held a Dragons Collide Sealed Deck tournament.  I thought that I might as well play, seeing as how I was planning on getting three of the Structure Decks anyway, and this way, I might get the nice mat.  So yeah, twelve people participated in the tournament.

Round 1: OO

This was my Round 2 opponent from this tournament.

-Duel 1: I opened Reasoning, he called Level 4, and I got Prime Material Dragon.  I destroyed and negated his Ryko, then used A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon to destroy his back row.  Later, I milled Eclipse Wyvern off of Ryko to banish my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (REDMD).  D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation sealed the game from there.
-Duel 2: I drew Reasoning again, and he called Level 4 again, and I had to send my Eclipse Wyvern to the Graveyard.  However, I was able to banish my REDMD, again.  I Set Escape from the Dark Dimension, and you can guess what happened from there...

Round 2: OXO

This was my Round 3 opponent from this tournament.

-Duel 1: I banished Dark Armed Dragon with Eclipse Wyvern after milling a bunch of cards, including three Darks.  All he had left was a Kaibaman and Chaos Zone, and I topped Darkflare Dragon with Chaos Sorcerer and Monster Gate in hand.  I summoned Chaos Sorcerer, banishing a Dark and Eclipse Wyvern to get back my Dark Armed.  I then banished his Kaibaman with Chaos Sorcerer's effect, then tributed it for Monster Gate, Special Summoning Prime Material Dragon.  I dropped Dark Armed Dragon, then Darkflare Dragon to OTK.
-Duel 2: All I really had was a Snipe Hunter, but it didn't do much once he dropped Lightpulsar and killed me.
-Duel 3: We were both sitting on bad hands, but I drew a Monster first, so I won.

Round 3: XX

This was my Round 3 opponent from this tournament.

-Duel 1: He ended up with a Lightpulsar Dragon and a Card Trader with nothing in hand.  All I had was an Inferno Fire Blast (which I happened to draw EVERY SINGLE GAME today...).  I topped Chaos Sorcerer to banish his Lightpulsar, then he topped Darkflare to kill my Chaos Sorcerer.  I had nothing left and lost soon afterwards.
-Duel 2: I only drew one Monster, Herald of Creation, and couldn't do anything.

He went on to beat Yugilo in the finals to win the mat.  So yeah.

After that was the usual tournament.  So...

Round 1: vs Lightsworn

This was my Round 2 opponent from this tournament.

-Duel 1: He opened with Solar Recharge into Pot of Duality into Solar Recharge into Solar Recharge.  He proceeded to drop two Judgment Dragons to kill me... Yeah, I guess I deserved to lose or something...
-Duel 2: Again, he just had everything he needed.  His Judgment Dragon paved the way for his Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, and there was nothing I could do...

I was really frustrated losing that match.  I would've rather been Wind-Up looped than lose like that.

Round 2: vs Newbie Jurrac

I beat him with Thor both games...

Round 3: vs Wind-Ups

This was my Round 2 opponent from the earlier Dragons Collide Sealed Deck tournament.  Apparently, he was out for revenge...

-Duel 1: He Wind-Up looped my hand, ending with Leviathan Dragon and a couple back rows.  The last two cards in my hand were Monster Reborn and Sangan.  I topped Torrential Tribute and Set my whole hand, but lost my Torrential in the End Phase to his Mystical Space Typhoon.  He Mind Controlled the Sangan, hoping to see a Super-Nimble Mega Hamster or Ryko, and simply attacked directly with Leviathan Dragon before passing.  I Set the Solemn Warning I drew and passed.  He attacked the Sangan, letting me grab a Super-Nimble Mega Hamster.  I Set it and ended.  He played Heavy Storm, destroying his own Solemn Warning and my two back rows, then attacked my Hamster, letting me get Tanngnjostr (black goat).  I Flip Summoned Tanngnjostr to Special Summon Guldfaxe from my deck, then summoned Deep Sea Diva to grab Lost Blue Breaker and make Thor.  Thor negated Leviathan Dragon's effect and attacked over it, while Diva attacked directly.  Unfortunately, he played Dark Hole, then Monster Reborn to take my Thor.  I drew another Super-Nimble Mega Hamster to Set.  He attacked it and I grabbed Ryko.  I drew Guldfaxe with one other card in hand and Flip Summoned the Ryko.  He used Effect Veiler to protect Thor, but I just summoned the Guldfaxe to make Brionac and bounce Thor back to my Extra Deck.  He topped Wind-Up Rabbit and summoned it.  I topped my second Reborn Tengu (the first was sent to the Graveyard by the first-turn Hunter loop).  He couldn't save his Rabbit, as he was at exactly 4000 LP, so he had to take the attacks.  He drew an MST to go with the one that was already Set and scooped.
-Duel 2: I was able to play around his multiple Tour Guides pretty well with Effect Veiler, Maxx "C", and Rai-Oh.  But then he stole my Scrap Dragon with Mind Control and used it to destroy the last of my cards.  From there, he looped me, and I died.
-Duel 3: I opened with a Set Super-Nimble Mega Hamster, Mind Control and MST.  He summoned Tour Guide to grab Sangan, Set two back rows, and passed.  I destroyed one with my MST and started my turn.  I Flip Summoned my Hamster, but he negated it with Solemn Warning.  So I summoned a Tanngnjostr (black goat) and flipped Mind Control to steal the Sangan and overlay for Leviathan Dragon.  I boosted its ATK by detaching my Beast, then attacked over his Tour Guide.  He made a Leviathan Dragon of his own with another Tour Guide, then crashed it into mine.  From there, all I ended up drawing was Monsters, so I couldn't defend myself that well from his swarms.  He ended up negating my Deep Sea Diva with Effect Veiler and drawing another Veiler off of Pot of Avarice.  He then made a late-game Wind-Up loop, and I died.

Round 4: vs Newbie HEROes

He Chained Super Polymerization to my Black Rose Dragon's effect for some reason... Yeah, he didn't really know what he was doing.

So yeah, I ended up going X-2 again.  Basically, this tournament turned out just like last Saturday's...

Usually, I switch decks after going X-2 even once, but I wanted to give Nordic Diva another chance, since I was able to win with it last Friday, and I really like how the deck plays.  But, I've decided to switch decks again...  I basically have all of the cards for Infernities, Vayu Turbo, a HERO variant, and Karakuri.  I don't really like Vayu Turbo, since it can have too slow of a start.  I've expressed my dislike of HEROes in the past, but it's still an option.  Oh, and I'm not going to run Scraps again this format; they're just too slow and too dependent on Scrap Chimera and Worm Xex...

So, it's basically between Infernities and Karakuri.  The reasoning is that both decks can swarm very quickly, but also have some control aspects.  If I run either of these decks, I think that it would be Karakuri, since then I could run Macro Cosmos.  Besides, I would rather have a second Infernity Mirage and an Infernity Barrier before I play Infernities competitively.  I already have all of the cards for any Karakuri variant that I can think of, so we'll see what happens...
